2. Where is the Moneta Farmers Market Located?
13641 Moneta Road , Moneta VA 24121 (Next to the Library).
3. What is Conventional product?
Farmers may use fertilizers and pesticides along with GMO seeds.
4. What does Sustainable mean?
"Sustainable agriculture is the efficient production of safe, high quality agricultural
products, in a way that protects and improves the natural environment, the social and
economic conditions of farmers, their employees and local communities, and
safeguards the health and welfare of all farmed species."
5. What is Bio-intensive?
An organic agricultural system that focuses on achieving maximum yields from a
minimum area of land, while simultaneously increasing biodiversity and sustaining the
fertility of the soil.
6. What is Organic?
A form of agriculture that relies on techniques such as crop rotation, green manure,
compost, and biological pest control.
7. How do I become a vendor?
Applications are given on request to potential vendors. Food vendors are required to
have a site tour prior to admissions. Artisans must submit photographs of their work
prior to being accepted. ( Have a link to an inquire email).
8. Are pets allowed at the market?
Yes! We ask that you keep your pet on a leash.
9. What payment types are accepted?
Cash/checks are accepted by all vendors. Many vendors also accept Credit cards.
10. What is the plan for inclement weather?
We are open rain or shine.
11. Are there bathroom facilities?
Yes, the Moneta/SML Library allows us to use their bathrooms. They open at 9am.
12. Is the market handicap accessible?
Yes, the market is on a paved portion of a walking trail.
13. What happens to any leftover produce?
The Moneta Farmers Market has partnered with Lake Christian Ministries to glean the
market. The donations are distributed to our neighbors that are food insure.
